I have been studying the effectiveness, side effects and risks involved with the HPV vaccine which is being marketed towards teens as a must have preventative measure for preventing cervical cancer.

To date 10 deaths have been linked to Gardasil since September 2007, and there have been 140 reports so far this year of serious side effects such as miscarriage and Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Here is a recent article from Dr. Mercola on the effects of the HPV vaccine Gardasil.

Many fertility issues are due to having estrogen dominance in the body. There are many ways for the body to receive estrogen overkill… the environment, non-organic meats, stress, soy foods and chemicals in products are just a few. The good news is there is now a natural way to rid the body of an overabundance of estrogen. A supplement called DIM. Read Article here…

In the past the standard belief was that the only factor that determines ovarian health is age. But that is not so.

The cycle of an egg in preparation for ovulation is around 90 days.

There are many environmental factors that can impact the health of the ovaries and eggs. Environmental factors, hormones in the diet, and stress can also have an impact on the health of the ovaries and eggs.

Having healthy fertility is based on many factors, proper circulation, healthy fertility cycle, balanced hormones, and healthy eggs. In this article I will be sharing with you how you can increase the health of your eggs by using natural herbs, supplements, foods, and applying self massage. Read Article…

Question:

I read on your site about the fertility cleanse and
was wondering what the diet was? I cannot eat a lot of grains, and have
found that a lot of the times, on a cleansing diet you are supposed to
eat whole grains and not a lot of animal products. That would leave me
eating mostly green vegetables, since I have a blood sugar problem.
Would I be able to do it?

“Women who want to get pregnant may want to stay away from fast food french fries not just to avoid putting on some extra pounds, a new study shows. The more trans fats a woman eats, the more likely she is to be infertile, Dr. Jorge E. Chavarro of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston and colleagues found.” - MSNBC

Eating trans fats have an effect on the body by interfering with a cell receptor involved in inflammation, glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Insulin sensitivity and poor glucose metabolism are the same factors that affect the fertility of women who have PCOS.

With every 4 grams of trans fats eaten instead of omega-6 fatty acids, the risks of fertility issues doubles. It is not hard to get 4 grams of trans fatty acids a day, especially if you eat fast foods and processed foods.

Solution?

  • Start reading labels. Avoid foods that contain trans fats in the ingredients.

  • Eat whole foods in there natural state. Focus on fresh vegetables, fruits, organic meats and fish.

  • Avoid fast foods- French fries, hamburgers, fried chicken, ect… are all cooked in trans fats

  • Question:

How long does it take for my hormones to be balanced after being on the pill for 8 years. I’m taking a food based pre-natal vitamin, extra b6, cal/mag, evening primrose oil, and fertility herbal tincture(w/vitex and maca) from quantum, a small co. from Woodstock NY. What else can I do? I’m 36 years old and we’ve only been trying for 3 months. I’ve been thinking about Maya massage, what do you think? Thanks for your time.

Is your fertility being affected by xenohormones?

Xenohormones are substances not found in nature that have hormonal effects on the body. They have an estrogenic effect on both the male and female bodies causing a progesterone deficiency. These toxic substances are easily absorbed through the skin and build up in the body over time.

We come into contact with xenohormones on a daily bases. Once you know where and what they are you can avoid them or not use products that contain them. There has been extensive research on the connection between xenohormones and hormone disruption, which leads us to fertility issues and imbalances.More…

I wrote this article to bring you to awareness so you can avoid these substances, especially when you are preparing for pregnancy and are pregnant; they need to be avoided at all costs.

How xenohormones have an estrogenic effect :

  • They combine with estrogen receptor sites and activate the estrogenic action
  • They induce the formation of extra estrogen receptor sites
  • Inhibit the ability of the liver to excrete estrogens
  • Common sources of xenohormones

-Solvents and adhesives - These enter the body easily and can be found in paint/varnish, nail polish and in dry cleaning. Solvents can damage a developing fetus and should be strongly avoided by pregnant women, in any amount.

    -Car exhaust

    -Almost all plastics

-Meat from conventionally raised livestock (non-organic)- They feed them estrogenic drugs to fatten them up

-Petrochemically derived pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides

-Emulsifiers found in soaps and cosmetics

    -PCD’s from industrial waste

NOTE: You can absorb xenohormones by ingestion, inhalation and direct skin contact.

    What you can do…

1.Stop using pesticides of all sorts, bug sprays, lawn sprays. - Instead use organic treatments for your lawn and garden, and natural bug sprays made with essential oils

    2. Eat organic, especially your meats, dairy and coffee.

    3. Avoid exposure to solvents, plastics, cosmetics, and soaps made with petrochemical based emulsifiers - a.k.a. mineral oil. Switch to a skin care line that is safe and pure

    4. Do not use mineral oil products on your body. Mineral oil is made from crude oil (the same stuff we make motor oil, gasoline, and plastics out of) and is like putting plastic on your skin.

    5. Do not microwave your food in plastic. This will release the xenohormones into your food

    6. Stop wearing polyester clothing (it is made out of plastic).

    7. Do not use air fresheners, fabric softeners, fake wood paneling when building a house. A healthy alternative would be using air fresheners that are made with essential oils.

    8. Don’t use spermicide.

    9. Avoid all synthetic sex hormones.

Natural Alternatives for Xenohormone Exposure/Estrogen Dominance :

  • Progesterone Cream or Sublingual Progesterone - helps to balance the estrogen dominance by balancing the hormone levels. Learn more about using natural progesterone here.
  • The Fertility Cleanse- aids the body in eliminating excess estrogens and toxins in preperation for conception.

    Question:

Hello, thank you for listening. I’m 36 years old. After being on birth control pills for 9 years, I stopped taking them in sept. I feel like crap in every way. I would like to do a cleanse but it has to be realistic and I’ve been taking every herb I can take for hormonal balances and fertility. We’ve been trying to get pg for 3 months. Do you have any helpful suggestions?

Study: Women who eat seafood while pregnant may be boosting their children’s IQ in the process, according to new research published Friday in The Lancet.

The study relied on mothers’ observations of their children’s development and their reports of their food intake while pregnant.

The study, led by Dr. Joseph Hibbeln of the United States’ National Institutes of Health, tracked the eating habits of 11,875 pregnant women in Bristol, Britain.

    Study:

Men with high levels of three common pesticides in their urine are more than 10 times as likely to have low-quality sperm than men who haven’t been exposed to the chemicals, according to a groundbreaking new study published today.

The results were so powerful that many scientists will quickly seek to test the study’s suggestion that the widely-used weed killers alachlor and atrazine and the insecticide diazinon may be affecting the fertility of men who drink water tainted with the compounds.

    Study:

Researchers found those men who used a phone for four hours or more a day had fewer sperm and those they had moved less well and were of poorer quality.

The Ohio study involving 364 men was presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine in New Orleans.

But a UK expert said it was unlikely the phones were to blame, as they were in use and not near the testes, and it may be being sedentary was the cause.

“If you are holding [the phone] up to your head to speak a lot, it makes no sense that it is having a direct effect on your testes ”
Dr Allan Pacey, British Fertility Society

The team from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio tested the sperm of 364 men who were being treated at fertility clinics in Mumbai, India, with their partners.

It was found that the heaviest users, those who used their phones for more than four hours a day had the lowest average sperm counts, at 50 million per milliliter (ml) and the least healthy sperm.

    Comments:

    I have to disagree with Dr. Paceys statement, he over looked something very important;

Soy is one of the hottest topics of debate in the health food world today. Why all the differing opinions? Is soy healthy and should we be consuming it like the next magical panacea?

Soy beans have been used to make everything from milk, cereal, and baby formula to burgers and butter. I wonder if most people even know what a real soy bean looks like.

    Study:

“Heavy Smoking may reduce female fertility by directly affecting the uterus - making it less receptive and reducing the chances the embryo will implant”

The results were obtained from comparing the pregnancy rates between non-heavy smokers (under 10 a day) and heavy smokers ( more than 10 a day). All of the women were receiving IVF treatments.

The non-heavy smokers had a 52% pregnancy rate and the heavy smokers had a 34% success rate.

Although the pregnancy rate was much lower for heavy smokers, those that did become pregnant were 60% more likely to have twins!
