Hi mhy02,

I can see why you may be concerned about using Dong Quai when having hemorrhoids since it promotes blood flow to the genitals. The key factors you may want to consider when having hemorrhoids are constipation and toning the vascular system to relieve symptoms and prevention in the future. I have never heard of Dong Quai effecting hemorrhoids negatively, the only way to know if it will affect you is to try it and see while at the same time working toward relieving the itching, swelling and pain associated with the hemorrhoids.

Natural/herbal ideas to relieve hemorrhoids*:

Witch Hazel compress
Black Tea compress (may work better than witch hazel)
- With either of these you could soak organic cotton cosmetic pads in a 4oz. widemouth jar with a screw top lid, fill jar with pads, cover with the witch hazel or black tea, add a few drops of lavender essential oil, cap, shake gently, place in refridgerator. Use one pad, tuck next to hemorrhoid, change several times a day as needed.

Ideas for herbs that are helpful internally for hemorrhoids:

-Bilberry extract 120 to 360mg a day
-Stinging Netttle infusion (tea) 2 to 3 times a day
-500mg Vit C with bioflavinoids

Remember these are just ideas that have traditionally been used to help with hemorrhoids, but they do not solve the problem of why you have them. You may need to make some dietary changes as well. Be sure to drink plenty of water, exercise daily and be sure to get enough fiber each day.

Dong Quai may not effect your hemorrhoids if you are working toward healing the hemorrhoids at the same time.

Let me know if this helps you.

Thanks for the infos Ms. Dalene, i would definetely try the dong quai
and will follow your advice regarding my hemorrhoids..
One more thing, does having hemorrhoids (internal hemorrhoids specifically)
will affect my chances of becoming pregnant?

My husband & I are trying to conceive for more than 3 years but unfortunately,
we still haven't got at least one baby :(
I am 24 yrs old, overweight, have very irregular menstruation(3-4 months interval) and diagnosed with PCOS.
Is there any herbs that could help a man boost his fertility?

I would appreciate you help very much...
Thank you & More Power!!!

The above will help you with internal hemorrhoids.

Hello,
I have Endometriosis and I take Women's Best Friend for 2 months (2 caps 3 times daily). Now I will take 2 caps morning and evening for 2 months more. The Dong Quai which included in Women's Best Friend covers me enough?
I must take 3000 mg (2 X 500 mg 3 times daily). Can I take Women's Best Friend and Dong Quai together?
Thank you

You could but you would not want to exceed the recommended general dosage for Dong Quai. I will try to find out how much Dong Quai is in the Women's Best Friend and I will get back to you.

Hi,

I finally found out the Dong Quai amount in Women's Best Friend: Per capsule, there is 25mg of dong quai. So, 6 caps a day is: 150mg.

In our Donq Quai the suggested general dosage is 1,040mg a day.

So you would just want to work toward staying within that range when combining the two.
