How does one use the cream when a cycle does not exists? Do you use it immediately and for the whole month and then stop? Or do you use it continuously until a cycle eventually start?

Hi VirtuousWoman,

Do not use the progesterone continuously. If you are not ovulating Dr. Lee recommends picking a day to begin and then counting the days until you would normally begin to menstruate (21 days), then stopping and counting 5 days not using the progesterone (these would be the days you should be menstruating). Then begin the cycle again. It could take several cycles for this to work. He also has another method that is slightly more confusing that you may read about by click on this title: Inducing ovulation using progesterone. Scroll down until you see the paragraph on inducing ovulation.

I started taking sublingual progesterone last cycle, only 6 mg/day. I noticed that my period lasted almost 4 days instead of the usual 1-2. Is this supposed to happen on progesterone? I was excited to see it because I have a gut feeling that it's not good for my period to be so very light. I'm going to start the progesterone cream after O this month, the doseage is 20mg/day and I think I need a bit more.
Thanks for the help! :)

So could you use the progesterone drops or cream like the doctor would give you in pill form to start your period? I believe it is called something like withdrawal bleed or something along those lines. The pill you take for 10 days then in about 4-5 days start your period. Just curious......My period only lasts about 4 days and is not really bloody, but brownish. I can totally wear a liner instead of a pad. I am going to start the pregnancy prep with the dong quai and vitex, but was wondering if progesterone would help.

I've been told by a friend that you do use the progesterone cream like the pills the docs give you. Only thing is that, of course, you don't take it for just 10 days as it takes longer to regulate your system. I have the same question regarding adding the progesterone to the Pregnancy Prep. :?:
