Massage after ectopic pregnancy

Postby becomingmom » Fri Aug 14, 2009

Hello,

I recently had an ectopic pregnancy (they thought it was a miscarriage but it ended up being ectopic). TO avoid surgery, I was given methotrexate about four weeks ago to end the pregnancy, so I still have my right tube and ovary. My hcg levels did not return to normal until one week ago, and that side of my lower abdomen can still pretty tender sometimes.

Yesterday I did the fertility massage. I've noticed since then that I've been having a dull ache on that side. I was specifically doing the massage to break up any scar tissue left there, and to clear up anything that was blocking the tube and caused the ectopic.

Would it be wise for me to discontinue the massage on that side altogether, or is the pain possibly a sign that some of the scar tissue is breaking up since I'm taking the Zymessence as well? If I do need to stop the massage for a time, is there a recommended period that I should wait to give my body more time to heal before trying again?

Thank you for your help.

It may still be too soon to be massaging that area. I would avoid it until it is no longer soar.
Best wishes,
