how to use progestrone cream?

Postby bishoujokogal » Sat Mar 06, 2010

hi. im 21 and i a very big hormonal imbalance. i typically bleed for 45 days at a time. then it will stop for like a month, then i will bleed for another 30-45 days. as you can imagine this is very frustrating for me. i have little to no cramping at all. most of the time it is very heavy and i have to "double up" so i wont have accidents at work. the color of the blood starts out very dark or black~then gets very (and i mean very) bright red. and this continues on and on...

so i have been trying to find a way to get my hormones back in balance. i have tried maca, vitex, dong quai, all natural vitamins, evening primrose oil, etc. and so far nothing has worked for me. i really dont know what to do at this point. this is taking a toll on my marriage and personal life. (mood swings & anger)

but i found an article on progesterone cream. and taking the quiz on this site-i found out im most likey estrogen dominant (hence low progesterone balance)

what i want to know - how does someone like me take progesterone cream? when should i take it? and which brand is the best to buy?

can some one please help me? im really on the edge here about to fall off....

<also what else could i do to get my hormones in balance?>

thanks

Wow is sounds like you were dealt a crappy card! I would wait for Hethir's response, but there is a natural brand of progesterone called Emerita, and there are ones with herbs and one without. I'm going to start taking some once I ovulate. I'm really excited because I have a normal cycle and bleeding but right before my period, I sort of have to force myself into a shell so I don't explode of everyone. I also get acne like a preteen and hot flashes at night and bad cramps the first 2 days, horrible thin dry skin and low sex drive.

I took that test too, and I have the same thing, estrogen dom. and progesterone def. You should also try DIM, is gets rid of excess estrogen. Good luck!

Hi bishoujokogal,

While suggestions or guidance can be helpful over the internet in your case it would really be best to see a Naturopathic Doctor who can monitor and guide you in the proper use of Progesterone Cream specific for your personal situation.

Are you taking an iron supplement? With that much bleeding you may need to, to prevent anemia.

When you say you have tried herbs, how long did you take them for and were you consistent in taking them?

All the best,

Dalene

i take a multi with extra iron in it, but the herbs i would do for a while, but once i start bleeding and they dont work to stop it-i get frustrated and quit. so i dont take them as consistently as i should. i also dont have a naturopathic doctor in my area at all, let alone health insurance....

I just want to add that most supps with iron in them aren't absorbed properly. They can also be constipating. You should try Floradix...it's from natural sources, food and since it's a liquid, it goes to work right away! You should look on amazon and read the reviews. I just started taking it and it toom my basal body temp back up already! I've only taken it 3 times.

bishoujokogal,

I agree with linsa about Floradix, by far one of the best iron supplements out there.

Have you checked to see if you qualify for state health insurance. Hey Obama just got the new health care bill passed, maybe that will help. All joking aside I understand what you are saying...just because I work for this website doesn't mean I don't know struggle...Hethir as well.

The key to natural therapies working is CONSISTENCY OVER TIME, this may be a long time. Vitex is generally suggested to be used for 6-12 months and up to 18 months before giving your body a break. Maca is a superfood, nourishing the endocrine system which is directly involved in hormonal balance, it is most effective when used everyday. You could begin using Progesterone Cream the day after you ovulate. Learning to chart your cycle may help you to know when this is. Natural remedies often require lifstyle change to be effective as well, that means diet change as well. Stress and exercise effect hormonal balance as well.

Have you read our Progesterone Fertility Guide? If not read it here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/progesterone-fertility-guide

Have you been to see a doctor about your condition? Have they diagnosed you with anything? A Natural Fertility Consultation is something you may want to consider.

Warmly,

Dalene

thanks everyone for the advice~

i applied for state health insurance and they turned me down.

i went to the hospital and told me for $1000 that i have a dysfunctional bleeding disorder and severe hormone imbalance but gave me nothing to help it. with out $$ no doctor will see me or they tell me to take birth control. -_-

if i get a fertility consultation from the site-will that help??

also i dont know when im ovulating because im bleeding all the time and i think charting would be hard for me. what should i do?? as of today i have been bleeding since the 18th of feburary.

Hi deks,

there are so many women on here and so many questions geared toward a Q&A with Hethir or me that it can be hard to keep up. A forum is better suited for discussion rather than product questions. If you have product questions, herbal questions, ect. you can contact me at info@natural-fertility-info.com.

What progesterone cream do you use? Is this a warning from the state of CA? I am not sure about what you are feeling, hot and headache could also be a common cold coming on, so I really have no way to answer this properly.

Sorry for the delay and understanding.
