I have been taking prenatal vitamins for a little over a month. I heard that can help. I am looking for any other suplaments and or diets. We have a 3 1/2 year old and want to add to our family. For what ever reason we are having a hardtime this time.

Malinda,
Taking a prenatal vitamin is a great start. It does need to be in addition to a healthy diet, as the foods we eat on a daily basis make a big difference. I usually recommend step one for people starting on their fertility plan to be eating a Nutrient Dense Fertility Diet and take a whole food multivitamin.

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant but I am irregular so its hard to know whats going on and Ive been told its going to be hard for me to get pregnant. Im looking for some natural solutions as i do not want to take drugs from a fertility clinic unless i absolutely have to

Hi Rachael,
There are a couple of reasons your cycle may be irregular such as stress, dietary deficiencies, low body weight, getting off of birth control pills, hormonal imbalance, or other underlying issues. We have a great herbal product called Pregnancy Prep. Pregnancy Prep helps to regulate menstruation, balance hormones and increase circulation to the reproductive organs. Without knowing your health history it is difficult to understand what may be causing your period to be irregular. Hethir has created Fertility Consultaions. When you purchase a Fertility Consultation you submit your complete health history by filling out a set of questions designed by Hethir. By better understanding your health history, fertility challenges, and lifestyle we will be able to help guide you with a plan that may bring your body back into balance and on to a naturally fertile body.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

I sufer from POCS and I’m over wieght and had not had a full cycle in a year, and I’m 35yrs old and a course my husband would like I start a family! what natural remdies can I use to (1) get my cycle back?! (2) try to have a child.

Hi Aqila,

Taking control over your diet and making lifestyle changes would be a healthy first step. A big part of the problem with PCOS is the high insulin resistance. Resistance to insulin increases the bodies insulin levels which effects normal ovulation by preventing the body from ovulating or limiting the maturation process of the released egg. This directly has an affect on your fertility and ability to conceive. Women who are insulin resistant are also 4-5 times more likely to have a miscarriage. Imbalanced insulin levels due to PCOS make it difficult for the embryo to attach properly to the uterus. PCOS is also a huge red flag for the beginning of type 2 diabetes. Hethir has a great page dedicated entirely to PCOS and the steps you can take to gain control over PCOS and bring your body back into balace. Implementing a healthy lifestyle change and working to reduce excess estrogen and balance your hormones may be just the thing to help your menstrual cycle come back. Join a discussion on PCOS at our new Fertility Forum.

Best Wishes!

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a little over two years. I have a blocked tube and he has a % of odd shaped sperm. I try to eat healthy and I exercise. Recently, I began taking the fertility medicine Letrozole/Femara and Ovidrel. I want to know if there are any fertility herbal treatments I can take along with my fertiliity medicine.

Hi Theresa,

We do not recommend taking any herbs, including Maca while on fertility medications. There has not been enough research to indicate if there may be any adverse reactions between herbs and fertility medication.

Your husband may be interested in our Male Factor Formula kit. This kit includes Men’s Multivitamin, Maca, Tribulus, L-Carnitine and CoQ10 all of which help to boost the health, quality, amount of sperm as well as hormonal balance. The Male Factor Formula Kit contains everything men need to get started to help increase their sperm health, sperm count, and motility. For best results use these supplements for at least 3 – 6 months.

Best Wishes,

Dalene
