Is my period back?
Long story short, me and my husband have been trying to conceive for the past year. We have been together for 5 years with no protection. I’ve been to a few doctors and they always tell me to lose weight and everything will go back to normal. Well, first off I’m 25 years old and I weigh 220 (232 my heaviest) and I have PCOS and I honestly don’t know what my normal is. My period history is well, I have never started on my own. When I was 18, they put me on birth control so I would start my period. I quit taking it a few months into it because it gave me chest pains and my period was like a horror movie. Other than birth control making me have a period, I never had one. However I will spot here and there maybe once every 4 months. Anyways, all the doctors told me to lose weight or take metformin, which I tried but it made me so sick and I don’t like taking anything that’s not natural.
At the beginning of this year I told my husband that I’m not worried about it this year, that I’m going to focus on myself. I’m going to get healthy, lose weight and have fun this year with traveling. I’m normally a very happy person, but I slip into these depressions for months at a time and feel like doing nothing but sleeping. End of January, I started eating better, lots of greens. I have lost a total of 12 pounds, I have felt a lot better and I have had maybe had 2 bad days of depression. Then I started taking a multivitamin because after a lot of my research I think I might be nutrient def. This is why I might not have a period. Then I discovered Vitex and all the other herbs to do with fertility. I decided to take Vitex trying to get my period back. I was worried at first because I have a lot of oral allergies. I took this one time and about two weeks later, I had a 5 day period on my own. I have never had any kind of period on my own, I about cried. I was over joyed.
So, I’m not sure if it was because of Vitex or just a mixture in eating healthy and getting the proper nutrition, but I’m over joyed. I started tracking everything and on the day I was suppose to ovulate, I took a ovulation test and I was not ovulating. I was mainly curious to see if my body was working right. I’m suppose to start in about 10 days, so we will see what happens. I highly recommend trying it though. Taste is not that bad [FertilicaTM Vitex Liquid Extract].
