A note from Hethir: I have dedicated my life to helping others improve their health and well-being. My goal with Natural Fertility Info.com is to create a source for high quality, research based information, while also keeping it simple and easy to understand. I have seen too many women misinformed that there are no options or solutions to their fertility issue. Improving your fertility and bringing your body into abundant health is simply a matter of consistently doing the most important things for your personal situation. Together I hope we can help make the dream and hope for a beautiful baby a reality for all families. Like life, the path to motherhood is a journey, so let’s enjoy every step along the way!
Dalene Barton – Senior Herbalist
Welcome! My name is Dalene Barton. I am a Certified Herbalist and Labor Doula. I have been practicing natural health and herbalism since 2000. I received my training at Yarmony Mt. Herbal College. That training included a course on natural women’s health, including a course on natural home birth. I knew nothing about natural healing methods, but I did know that something was calling me to learn more about alternative healing. I never knew that women had a choice to have a natural birth, yet alone in their own home. This inspired me to have my children at home in a birthing tub. From there I have raised my family using only herbal remedies, homeopathy, aromatherapy, and holistic healthcare practices. My birth experiences changed my life. I became passionate about natural birth and felt more women needed help in achieving their goals of having a natural birth. So in the Spring of 2007 I attended the Labor Doula program at Birthingway College of Midwifery in Portland, Oregon.
I have always been passionate about herbal medicine. I love plants and have extensive knowledge about working with them. I love to grow plants and have taken care of many different varieties of medicinal herbs. Plants have a variety of health benefits that work with our bodies, not for them. Nothing is more satisfying than wild harvesting your own medicine! I had a wonderful opportunity to take care of a beautiful medicinal herb garden for women’s health at Birthingway College of Midwifery. This garden is filled with a wide variety of herbs for women’s health. Because of this, I know many of the plants we sell in our Natural Fertility Shop first hand.
It is my deepest belief that in order to be truly healed we must first acknowledge that we deserve to nurture ourselves. I feel blessed to get to work with so many aspects of natural healing! Natural healing methods have transformed my life in the most wonderful ways, I hope that you can find that transformation and health in your own life!
It is with great excitement that I find myself writing a bio as a part of this dynamic team. I have been working in the natural products industry for 15 years. My humble beginnings were with a small family owned health food store in Columbia, Mo. Fresh out of college I was eager to continue my education outside of the classroom and this was the perfect place to explore my innate desire to learn all I could about alternative therapies. As I look back on my years there I realize how foundational and eye opening the experience really was. Working with customers to trouble shoot their health challenges and seeing results from using natural therapies was the most rewarding aspect of my time there. It ignited a passion and a direction in my life that I had yet to realize.
After over 13 years of service in the natural products sector it was time to change gears. Motherhood was calling and I was finally ready to answer the call. My journey towards motherhood was not an easy road. Faced with a variety of challenges I had come to the point of giving up. I believe that letting go helped to relax my mind, body, and spirit opening me up to conception. Who knew trying to conceive could be so stressful? If only I had known about Self Fertility Massage then!
I believe my past has prepared me for this next journey working with the Natural Fertility Shop. I am excited to continue helping people realize their dreams and goals in a very real and healthy way! I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
My name is Liz Willett and I am a Customer Care Specialist and Fertility Herbalist for the Natural Fertility Shop. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Holistic Health Studies with a specialization is herbalism from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. I bring with me six years of study in Eclectic herbalism, years of self-taught wellness knowledge and over twelve years of customer service experience, in addition to a love of nutrition, gardening, foraging and wild harvesting plants, my son and husband, and my three dogs (two Beagles and a Beagle/Border Collie mix who looks just like a Beagle).
I believe in order to be well and heal we need to look at our health from a holistic perspective – with the belief that our health is influenced by the interconnection of our physical body (including our emotions and thoughts), our spiritual beliefs and rituals, cultural identity and practices, the community of which we are a part, and our environment; all of these things working together to lead us to overall health and well-being. I am honored to a part of this team of passionate individuals and it is my commitment to be available to share with you what I know, to answer any questions that I can and to simply be here to listen.
Marija has been taken over by the herbs! She has been studying herbs and essential oils intensely for the past 5 years, training at the Ohlone Herbal Center in Berkeley, with Kathi Keville in Grass Valley, CA, with Dawn Zaft in Santa Rosa, CA , with Rosemary Gladstar through her distance learning program and at the California School of Herbal Studies for multiple short classes.
Prior to that, she spent nearly 15 years as a research scientist, with a focus on cancer and infectious disease. She received her doctoral degree in microbiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine while studying cancer-promoting mechanisms of human papillomavirus, the primary cause of cervical cancer. Her postdoctoral research on dengue virus was conducted in the School of Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley. She was an infectious diseases trainee at the UW Center for AIDS & STD and an infectious diseases fellow through UC San Francisco Division of Infectious Diseases. Her focus as an herbal practitioner is a low-tech, simple and holistic approach to health that incorporates both traditional herbal knowledge and the latest scientific research.
Through a miraculous intervention of a naturopathic Doctor my son’s life and health forever changed. This experience opened my heart and prompted my spirit to begin a journey in the study of Natural Health.
I began by studying physics at a local college which then evolved into bio-physics and physiology and then massage therapy. This progressed into studying herbalism through the School of Natural Healing while interning under a Master herbalist in a clinical setting. Following this I started practicing holistic nutrition, herbal medicine and other natural modalities for 6 years in a holistic clinic. I worked with Doctors and patient’s side by side learning and teaching holistic medicine.
I am certified as a nutritional consultant, a biofeedback practitioner and a cold laser therapist. I am a member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants and I hold a B.S. Degree in Natural Health from CCNH. I have spent 13 years dedicated to helping people and animals find their path to wellness. As a Natural Health Consultant I bring an eclectic approach from these areas of study: Massage Therapy, Holistic Nutrition, Biofeedback, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Enzymatic Therapy, Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Life & Wellness Coaching. I have a strong belief in women as healers and powerhouses of intuition and inner healing. I believe the part cannot be separated from the whole, nor the mind from the body. I am also convinced that things in life that challenge us, frustrate us, drive us mad, and fill us with fear, are sometimes the opponent disguised as our greatest teacher and become our greatest gift.
Leah Campbell – Fertility Advocate & Staff Writer
Living in Alaska, Leah Campbell was first diagnosed with endometriosis in 2009 at the age of 26. Her case was aggressive and resulted in 5 surgeries over the course of 3 years, during which time she was also advised to pursue In Vitro Fertilization before completely losing her chances of conception. The treatments failed, but Leah became an advocate for her own health and fought to regain her quality of life through more natural measures. Now a single mother by choice after a serendipitous series of events led to the adoption of her daughter, Leah blogs at Single Infertile Female (http://www.singleinfertilefemale.com/ ) and recently released her first book under the same title.
Her work has been published in several large online markets, and she is passionate about helping other women to advocate for themselves and gain their own voices when it comes to fighting for health and fertility.
