Fertility Tips for Women Over 35

“I’m over 35. What can I do to help support my fertility?”

If you’re over 35 and wanting to boost your fertility health, here are our most important tips to follow.

Video: Hethir Shares Her Top Fertility Tips for Women Over 35

1. Use Fertility Charting to See Where You’re at Hormonally

Fertility charting is wonderful because it gives you huge insights as to what’s going on in your body.

It lets you know:

  • If and when you’re ovulating
  • The length of your luteal phase
  • If you have possible hormonal issues
  • If you have potential thyroid issues

Once you start charting, you can ask your doctor about anything else that comes up.

2. Eat a Healthy Diet

Following a healthy diet is always beneficial, but here are some specific things for women over 35 to be aware of.

Get Enough Antioxidants

Antioxidants must be actively in your blood for them to consistently fight off free radicals. For this reason, you should be eating antioxidant-rich foods all day long.

Another reason antioxidants are important is because they protect cells – including egg (and sperm) cells.

So, loading up on colorful, antioxidant-rich foods is the way to go to keep your fertility health in tip-top shape.

Eat Plenty of Fiber

Fiber helps the body cleanse itself of excess hormones and regulate blood sugar levels. These things are essential when you’re trying to boost fertility health.

To get enough fiber, make sure to include lots of fruits, veggies, beans, and whole grains in your diet.

3. Reduce Toxins

Be aware of cigarette smoke, overconsumption of alcohol, high levels of stress, and chemicals found in household products.

Chemicals in cleaners, fragrances, and other products can mimic hormones in the body.

Because of this, it’s important to research and choose safe alternatives to everyday products.

4. Manage Your Stress

Stress management is essential when it comes to fertility. This is because too much cortisol can have a huge impact on your hormones.

And your hormones affect the maturation and release of an egg during ovulation.

So, you should have a stress management program in place for long term and in-the-moment stress. Herbs, extracts, and essential oils are great tools for this.

5. Cleanse the Body and the Home

Fertility Cleanse

Fertility cleansing has been an extremely helpful element for many of our clients over the last 13 years.

This helps the body with its natural cleansing and detoxification processes. It’s a kind of “restart” that helps the liver and uterus work optimally.

Cleansing the Home

Additionally, make sure your home is a safe environment for your fertility and hormonal health. This means keeping an eye out for those toxins we mentioned earlier.

6. Support Egg Health

Supporting your egg health is a vital part of your overall fertility health.

Of course, all the tips mentioned here will boost your egg health, but we do offer specific resources for this.

The Takeaway

While getting pregnant at 35 and older is more difficult than when you’re in your 20s, it’s certainly still possible.

By taking the steps we talked about above, you’re already off to an incredible start in supporting your fertility health.

Two things are clear about phthalates and your fertility health: One, they are everywhere, and two, they are controversial! Particularly controversial is the link between phthalates and fibroids.

Phthalates are a group of chemicals that are found in many everyday modern products. They’re found in floor and wall coverings, certain detergents, plastic food packaging, pharmaceuticals, lubricating oils, and personal care products like shampoos, soaps, hairspray, perfumes, and fragrant health products. Phthalates are even found in many of the plastic water bottles you might be drinking out of every day.

If you are as concerned about these chemicals in our everyday lives as I am, see our Ditch & Switch Guide so you can start getting those chemicals out of your home. You can find it by clicking on our Bio.

To make an impact on your health, you will need to first learn the actions and steps to take... then you will need to be consistent with those actions. It is the consistency that brings you the results. You are going to be human and not be perfect 100% of the time. Just accept that and get back to it. Consistency, day in and out, is more important than being perfect. You can't be 100% perfect for long, but you can be consistent every day.
