The fact of the matter is, yoga has many other benefits besides flexibility and toning, including improving fertility. Yoga is a great way to help you prepare for pregnancy and get pregnant.

There are countless methods of yoga and yoga poses that a person can perform. Each yoga pose helps to not only strengthen your body and mind, but can help you to regain balance in your body as well. Not only a physical balance and agility, but an overall balance between all of your body’s functions, including your reproductive system.

Fertility yoga uses key yoga poses that help to nurture, support and strengthen the endocrine and reproductive system. Your endocrine system is essential for proper hormonal balance, so using fertility yoga poses that promote healthy endocrine function is just as important as using poses that support the reproductive system as well.

What is Fertility Yoga?

There are a number of different benefits that your body can experience from performing fertility yoga. By performing these poses, you help to increase the energy flow through your body which improves the function of the endocrine and reproductive system. Fertility yoga, (in fact, all yoga) helps the body to maintain homeostasis, which is essential for the body to operate properly and at its finest.

Fertility yoga uses a specific series of stretches that have a positive effect on reproductive health. This fertility yoga practice was created by two women, Tami Quinn and Beth Heller, who have both experienced fertility struggles and treatments. This DVD is unique because they have been down the same road many of you have. Tami and Beth focus the practice on areas they feel were most helpful for them in working toward success, healing and stress management. The entire practice gives you the feeling you are in a yoga class; with real people (men and women) doing the same practice alongside of you.

This practice focuses on…

Breathing Technique: The entire beginning of the practice teaches you proper breathing techniques.

Postures: The actual physical poses are explained well and shown in plenty of time for you to get into the pose. More difficult poses have a great pop-out screen on how to use yoga props for support. The practice shows you real people learning in a group yoga instruction setting. Each pose is shown clearly and explained well. This practice is a bit slower paced and easy for beginners.

Visualization: There are two guided meditations at the end of the practice. This is a great way to support healing and stress management, as well as instilling the power of positive thinking to your fertility journey.

Pose support: The end of the DVD has a primer on how to use yoga props. These include straps, pillows, blocks, and the wall. Props are an essential tool for beginners. Props allow you to support each pose without strain or injury. When you are beginning any yoga practice you may need props.

Beginning a Fertility Yoga Practice

As with any new exercise program, it can be difficult to get into a routine. It can be a bit straining on your body and time management skills. As we all know, diet and exercise are the foundation for good health. So, learning a new exercise practice may seem tough at first, but if you are consistent with it, you will see huge changes in your health over time. Remember to get 30 minutes of exercise a day, 5 times a week. Fertility Yoga is one of the best ways to support reproductive health, reduce stress in your life and prepare for pregnancy. Do not be hard on yourself if your poses are not identical to the instructor. Over time and with practice, your strength, flexibility, and balance will improve dramatically! It may be best to begin this practice at your own pace. Begin by doing Fertility Yoga 2-3 times a week and increase to 5 times a week if you would like.

Juicing is the easiest way to get more veggies and fruits into your diet. 

The key I have found to be consistent with juicing is to batch juice. 

Every 3 days I make a big batch of juice so for the next 3 days all I have to do is reach in the fridge and my juice is ready to go.

Lowering cortisol levels is important for ovulation and healthy hormone production. 

When the body has high levels of cortisone the reproductive system will be the first system that stops getting resources.

In addition, having healthy fertility is based on many additional aspects to consider, including:

➡️ A healthy fertility cycle
➡️ Balanced hormones
➡️ Healthy eggs

Egg health is one of the cornerstones of healthy fertility.

The health of your eggs (ova) can affect whether or not fertilization and implantation will occur as well as the viability of a pregnancy.

During the cycle of an egg’s journey towards ovulation, there is a window of opportunity, a period of time, when certain factors can affect the health of the eggs that are preparing for ovulation. ⏳

This journey takes about 90 days.

The steps you take today will impact the health of your eggs 3 months from now.

That is why I talk so much about taking a MINIMUM of 90 days to prepare for pregnancy or IVF/IUI.
