Many women reach out who are experiencing a light period, which is only 2-4 days long and very light in flow. They are wondering what this means about their hormonal health and if they can do to support a healthy period.
There are a couple of different reasons that someone could be experiencing a light period. But I think what really comes to the front of the mind when someone is experiencing this is does this mean anything about my hormones and could this be affecting my fertility?
Let’s step back for a moment and think about what is happening with a light period. The monthly menstruation that we all have every single month is the lining of the uterus shedding because implantation did not occur.
If you are experiencing a light period, that could mean that the uterine lining is on the thinner side. So how this would affect fertility is that this could be a sign that there could be nutritional deficiencies, low hormone production, possible thyroid imbalance, or there could be poor circulation to the uterus.
So if you are experiencing light period, I do think it is important to listen to the body’s signs. Go ahead and watch the video above, I go into detail on the steps to take in each of these different categories and how you can get started.
