I have finished the fertility cleanse last month which made my cycle come 38 days later. This month it has come 12 days earlier from the last cycle date. I have experienced a lot of cramping, bleeding and some clots. I have also been fertility charting and my temperatures have been going from high to low daily. Recently I just found out that my prolactin is high. I am very concerned as I don’t know what to expect from my body right now. I do not know if it is still balancing itself out from the cleanse or if this is something new. I also have been using the DIM so I don’t know if that may be a factor. My gyn suggested to just go to one fertility doctor and not do anything else. Help!

    • Dear Dee,

I am sorry to hear you are worried! Cleansing stimulates the body to dump toxins and excess hormones into the bloodstream to be removed from the body via sweat, urine, feces, lymphatic system and more. Because these are temporarily re-circulating in the body, all of this may cause side effects. One side effect may include a temporary shift in the timing of the menstrual cycle. This means that a period may come later than expected, or that the length of the cycle may change. We typically see these shifts work themselves out within the next cycle, or within 1-3 cycles of beginning a natural fertility program/supplement that may also impact hormonal balance. Such a supplement is DIM. So, this menstrual cycle shift could be a combination of things. I know it is worrisome, but try not to worry. The body’s natural endogenous hormones (the good ones) are working hard now because the excess have gone.

What led you to cleansing and DIM? Was your cycle regular before cleansing? May I know how old you are? If you would rather share more details in private, please do so by contacting me here…

I hope this eases some worry and that you will reach out via email for continued support.

Thanks a lot for the list with menstrual health issues and how to naturally correct them.

My menstrual cycle issue is that my cycle is very short (average 16 days) which makes it hard for my body to create a thick endometrium lining, which is obviously needed to get pregnant. Would you have any solutions for this issue? Thanks 🙂
