Becoming a parent is a transformative time in your life. It’s filled with anticipation, planning, and a strong desire to hold your little one in your arms soon.
I am grateful you are reading this guide right now as this is a golden opportunity to have a HUGE impact on the health of your future child.
Taking the time to become healthier and prepare your body for pregnancy will payoff for years to come.
In this guide I will walk you through each of the important areas to focus on.
This guide will not only help ensure you’re healthy before you become pregnant. It will also help you to do what you can to prevent pregnancy complications due to lifestyle factors.
Let’s get started…
Here are the top pre-pregnancy goals this guide will focus on:
- Creating the best environment in your body for a healthy pregnancy.
- Clarity on when your most fertile time is each month so you can get pregnant faster.
- Nourish and protect your egg health to reduce the chances of pregnancy issues.
- Have a healthy bouncing baby.
How Much Time To Prepare Ahead?
I know you are excited and finally ready to start trying to get pregnant. This next chapter of your life will be a transformative one.
One of the best things you can do for your future child’s health is to prepare for your pregnancy ahead of time. Anywhere from 30 – 90 days preparation is ideal.
Taking this time to prepare helps you to:
- Support healthy ovulation: Regular healthy ovulation can be positively impacted through the steps I will be sharing.
- Support implantation: Having healthy uterine lining and creating a calm uterine environment will help to encourage implantation.
- Reduce the occurrence of birth defects: While some birth defects are genetic, there are lifestyle factors that can reduce the chance of birth defects.
- Increase egg health: This is a major one if you are 35 years or older. Follow the plan for at least 90 days if this is a concern of yours. Also check out my Egg Health Guide for more specific program.
- Increase chance of a healthy, full-term pregnancy: Going into pregnancy healthy will reduce the chances of pregnancy issues. This will also increase the probability of a full-term pregnancy.
Here are the steps to focus on for the first 30 days.
Detoxify & Support Hormone Health
We have lived entire lives up to this point. All of us have been exposed to environmental toxins, chemicals, poor diets, and so on. Cleansing is a great way to support the bodys natural ability to get rid of toxins and excess hormones.
This is the last opportunity you have to cleanse before pregnancy and breastfeeding as you can not cleanse while pregnant or breastfeeding.
Cleansing is a natural way to keep the body healthy, get rid of “toxins” and endocrine disruptors – all beneficial things to do before you get pregnant.
Fertility cleansing is a way to support the body in preparation for conception by cleansing the uterus and liver.
A fertility cleanse supports the liver in its ability to cleanse the body of toxins and excess hormones.
It also supports the uterus in its ability to cleanse itself of old stagnant blood and increases circulation to the uterus while tonifying the uterine tissues.
Note: Do not cleanse during pregnancy or breastfeeding. You do not want to expose your baby to your body’s toxins as they circulate in your blood on the way out.

Start Fertility Charting
Only 13% of women trying to get pregnant accurately estimated their ovulation day.
You’ve got to get this right if you want to get pregnant quickly.
Thank goodness there is a reliable way to know not only IF but WHEN you are ovulating. The answer – fertility charting.
This is not the same thing as tracking your period on an app.
Fertility Charting is Fertility charting involves monitoring your basal body temperature, cervical mucus, and other signs to pinpoint ovulation.
By tracking these changes, you can identify your most fertile days. It’s a more personalized approach compared to period tracking apps.
This method allows you to predict ovulation with greater accuracy.
Understanding your cycle through fertility charting can increase your chances of conceiving.
Here is my guide to Fertility Charting with all the information you need to get started….
Understanding your body’s natural cycle is crucial. By tracking your menstrual cycle, you can identify your fertile window—the days you are most likely to conceive.
This knowledge empowers you to get ovulation timing right. It increases your odds of pregnancy each cycle.
Focus on Whole Food Nutrition
One of the most important areas to focus on when preparing for pregnancy is going to be your diet and nutrition.
Nutrition can have one of the biggest impacts to support you or hurt you.
Many of the concerning complications that can happen in pregnancy are diet related.
So now is the perfect time to begin eating right for the healthiest egg, baby and pregnancy.
When it comes to nutrition the power is in your corner.
You have probably heard how important it is to get enough folate when you are trying to get pregnant. It prevents the most common birth defect.
What about other factors? There are many that nutrition can impact.
There will be two categories of foods to focus on. Food to eat and foods to avoid. I have an entire article that goes into depth on both of these.
A diet rich in whole foods, antioxidants, essential vitamins, and minerals supports hormonal balance and egg health. Incorporate foods high in folate, antioxidants, fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and lean or plant based proteins, while minimizing processed foods and sugars.
Proper nutrition not only boosts your fertility but also lays the groundwork for a healthy pregnancy.
Transiting your diet can sometimes be hard depending on what foods you currently eat. I totally understand that and it is a very common concern I hear.
This is because most of the foods we crave are highly processed. They have added ingredients for flavor. So we crave them.
The key to moving to a healthier diet is to make it easy. You need to reach the point where you actually crave healthy foods.
The secret way to do this is to drinking a Radical Fertility Smoothie every day.
A Radical Fertility Smoothies is a specific type of smoothie that incorporate leafy greens, fruits and seeds. It is a healthy and quick meal that floods your body with you with nutrients.
Drink a radical smoothie every day for two weeks and you will begin to see the benefits.
The most common reported are: better digestion, flatter tummy, better skin, more energy. And my favorite one… you begin to crave healthier foods.
There is a quick guide to Radical Fertility Smoothies in the Pre-Pregnancy Checklist.

Avoid Endocrine Disruptors That Affect Both You & Your Future Child
Avoid know endocrine disruptors that can affect your health as well as that of your baby.
Protecting your fertility involves minimizing exposure to environmental toxins that can adversely affect your reproductive health.
This includes avoiding chemicals found in soft plastics, personal care products, and purchasing foods organic that are listed on the dirty dozen.
Protecting your body in this way helps preserve your egg quality and overall fertility.
These common chemicals have been found to not only affect your hormone and reproductive function, but also that of your child in utero.
Prepare The Uterus For Implantation
I am not sure if you have read the headlines. Recent studies are reporting that sitting is worse than smoking for our health.
How does this pertain to preparing for pregnancy?
Circulation.
The sedentary lives we live impact circulation. Specifically circulation to the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes.
When the reproductive system gets less circulation it also gets less nutrients. It also has a harder time removing toxins through the lymphatic system.
But there is a simple solution. Increase circulation to your uterus.
There are a couple of easy ways to do this.
- Exercise and move more. Sit less.
- Do Womb Care Castor oil packs.
- Do self massage for the reproductive system.
These are all good habits you should do daily when preparing for pregnancy.
Exercising and moving more is self explanatory. Find movement you enjoy and do them.
The next two are self-care therapies you can do at home. They have a list of benefits for uterine health and preparing for pregnancy.
Womb Care Castor Oil Packs are a simple, yet powerful, natural therapy.
They entail applying castor oil infused with essential oils to the skin and covering with a wrap.
Castor oil packs have been used for centuries. They promote healing, reduce inflammation, and aid detoxification.
They work well on the reproductive system. They can increase circulation and promote healthy ovaries and uterus.
Castor oil has a compound called ricinoleic acid. It is responsible for many of its benefits.
By using castor oil packs on a regular basis you can help to naturally:
- Enhance blood flow to the reproductive system
- Activate the body’s detoxification capabilities
- Promote normal fallopian tube health
- Reduce occasional discomfort in the uterus and ovaries
- Nurture and soften tissues within the reproductive system

So far I have shared ways to care for your body in prep for pregnancy. If you are following them, you should start feeling a little pampered.
Enhancing blood flow to the reproductive organs is vital for healthy fertility. Techniques such as fertility massage, exercise, and acupuncture can increase circulation. They improve egg health and the uterine environment.
Good blood flow delivers more nutrients and oxygen to the sex organs. This supports their best function.
