Abi’s Fertility Success Story

Name: Abi

Age: 41 years

Number of years trying to get pregnant? 4 years

What was your fertility journey prior to finding Natural-Fertility-Info.com and the NaturalFertilityShop.com?

My husband and I met in 2010 and married in 2011, because we were in our late 30s we started trying for a family straight way. In 2012 we experienced an life threatening ectopic pregnancy, we had not known that we were pregnant and initially evidence of the extent of the internal bleeding was missed resulting in emergency surgery and the loss of a fallopian tube.

The following year I discovered that I had miscarried at the 12 week scan. We live out in the Middle East so trying to find out what had happened or to receive any support was hard. The Dr. advised that we have genetic testing done on the baby to rule out any issues. We found that the baby had Trisomy 9.

It took us over a year to find a clinic that was prepared to take us through the testing to rule out that we were carriers, since we had ‘only’ miscarried once. During this time I found Natural Fertility, I read a variety of articles about preparing for pregnancy, improving egg and sperm health and had a consultation. As a result we both changed our diet and lifestyle. Having somebody to converse with who could offer simple steps that we could take made a world of difference. We had hit a brick wall in many ways but we continued to do the little bit we could so that we were ready when the time came.

Eventually we found a Dr. who was proactive. He recommended that we try IVF, mainly because we had wasted so long and I was getting older. It was a step we had considered but expected to be further down the line so it seemed sudden to us. I was incredibly grateful that we had been preparing ourselves for such a time. I had seen Circle and Bloom advertised so began their IVF meditation program. We started IVF treatment in December 2014 and in January we found that we were pregnant. I delivered a healthy baby boy in September.

What information and products made the difference for you?

  • Fertility consultation – having someone to talk to and support us through making small step-by-step changes to my diet, lifestyle and frame of mind.
  • Circle and Bloom – My husband administered the injections so before each one I listened to the meditation, it gave me a very positive, calm mindset where I could visualize becoming pregnant and a healthy pregnancy.

What changes and benefits did you experience from taking the products?

As we live in the Middle East we were unable to purchase products directly so we followed advice and bought what we could find.

We began to use maca in our morning smoothies and take folic acid, royal jelly, CoQ10 and a multivitamin. I also did the camphorated oil massage.

We both felt healthier and proactive.

What is some advice you would give others going through their fertility journey?

Keep the faith, take small steps to improve your life and lifestyle. Do what you can and focus on that rather than on what you can’t do anything about.

Find a doctor that you trust, who knows you and your situation and strives to solve the problem. A team player!

Don’t put having a baby central to your future… a tricky one to articulate but don’t put off doing certain things ‘in case you get pregnant’ or think ‘I’ll do that after I have had a family’. We were treading water in life for so long and it was draining, the moment we made some big changes, buying a house abroad, we felt like we had something to look forward that wasn’t reliant on having a baby. This seemed to take pressure off us. Now we get to share that with our baby.

In dealing with a miscarriage, mourn the loss, give yourself time. Stay tight with your husband and do something together that remembers the baby and the life you created. We named our babies and dedicated trees in their memory in a place that is special to us. We also started to sponsor a child, it was our way of ‘sowing seed’ for the future.

I have recommended Natural Fertility to all of my friends who are trying to become pregnant or pregnant. The difference that it made to us was incredible, it took a weight off our minds as we knew we were playing our part.

How are you and your baby doing now? How old is your baby now?

Baby and I are doing great. I enjoyed a good, healthy, easy pregnancy. My hypothyroidism was never an issue and despite being overweight faced no related issues.

It was decided that I would have a C-section to reduce risks and because the placenta was low. Other than the first two days when I was sore and numb I have been as normal, almost forgetting that I had major surgery.

Our baby is now 5 weeks old and just beautiful.
