Fertility Cleanse Q&A

by Hethir Rodriguez, MH, CMT

Q: Can I take my other supplements while I am on the Fertility Cleanse?

A: While on the Fertility Cleanse it is best to not take additional herbs or supplements unless they are your multivitamin, omega 3, or medications that you must take.

Q: If I don’t have a period, when should I start my Fertility Cleanse?

A: If you do not have a period due to PCOS or other reasons you would then choose your own start date.

Q: When is the best time of day to take my Fertility Cleanse products? Do I need to take them with food?

A: I think the Fertility Cleanse Products are best taken at two different times of the day. In the morning and in the evening. It is not necessary to take them with food, but you can take them with a meal if you like.

Has the fertility cleanse kit helped anyone with they fertility?

2 hethir January 20, 2009

Hi Kate,

The Fertility Cleanse has helped many women get their periods back, pain from endometriosis has gone away, ovulation resumed, and some even lost weight. Many have gone on to become pregnant after bringing their bodies back to balance and making the lifestyle changes that create a healthy body. You can read our testimonials here: http://natural-fertility-info.com/testimonials

Can I complete the fertility cleanse while taking Prometrium and Clomid?

Thanks,
Melanie

Hi Melanie,

We don’t recommend taking any herbs while on fertility medications. The Fertility Cleanse lasts approx. one month. If you have a month where you are not taking fertility meds. then that could be you month to do it.

Warmly,

Dalene

Hi Dalene
I have endometriosis and bought the fertilty Cleanse kit and Endowise kit(Dim,Zymessence& progestrone cream,Womens Best Friend).I completed the fertility cleanse last month and since am TTC , i sought your advice in this regard as to what to do and asyou suggested i do not TTC on the month am on the cleanse and start fertility enzyme therapy for the next 2 months post cleanse.I did the same ..this is my first month of enzyme therapy(I take Zymessence 3 times a day on empty stomach, DIM twice a day,WBF thrice a day and apply emerita progestrone cream twice(dime size)).Now i am TTC as i dont want to waste time.. and as Progestrone cream was advised to be taken from days 8 to 26 of my cycle..
Reference :”Progesterone for endometriosis : If you have endometriosis, Dr. John Lee recommends using progesterone from days 8 to 26 of your cycle, to reduce the effects of estrogen on the body (estrogen stimulates endometrial growth). Take a short week off to refresh your receptor sites.”

I already started that. However i noted that while charting my BBT, it shows likely ovulation around Day16(not sure though) and we did try around dat day but to my shock, i am reading above that Progestrone cream suppresses ovulation.. if yes, should i stop taking it from day8 and take after ovulation?? am so worried now bcos i was not told of this in the kit instructions and in hethir’s reply even though i mentioned am TTC .. pls.. guide me what to do ..i am hoping so much for a baby.. though i have moderate endometriosis, i still get my monthly cycles regularly and think dont have problem ovulating.. help me Dalene..

Hi Randy,

You would only want to take the Progesterone Cream starting on day 8 if you are wanting to work toward reducing the effects of endometriosis. This would be for someone who would like to get the pain, inflammation and endometrial growth under control before trying to conceive. In your case you only have mild endometriosis and you are ttc, because of that and the fact you chart your cycle, you may want to use the cream after ovulation up to your period. Progesterone Cream can suppress ovulation if it is taken before ovulation. Thanks for your question. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi Michelle,

I would first recommend reading over our Blocked Fallopian Tube page and our Uterine Fibroids page.

It is difficult for us to answer your questions based on just a small piece of the bigger picture of your health. It is helpful for us to know your lifestyle, health history, fertility challenges and detailed questions. That is why Hethir has created Fertility Consultations. This will better help us to guide you in the right direction for bringing about a balanced body and fertility. Honestly we need more information to serve you better. In your case I recommend a Natural Fertility Consultation.

All the best,

Dalene

i have been trying for a baby for the past 2 and a half years, i discovered i had mild endometriosis during a laporoscopy 11 months ago, the doctors told me it has been corrected during the lap. i have tried clomid on two circles and nothing happened, i really had pains at my upper right and left abdomen during the clomid intake and even this month that am not on it i still feel pains in the L and R upper abdomen since the doctor told me l’ve got some cyst at my last check up. Please i want to know what the fertility cleanse can do for me if i start using it, now that l’ve stop any fertility treatment for sometime i also have pains during my menses. Please help! i would love to get pregnant soon.

Hi Achiaamaa,

When you are preparing for conception, it may be a good idea to start out with a cleanse to renew your body, blood, and uterus. There are specific herbs that help to support the liver to getting rid of excess hormones and toxins. There are also herbs and nutrients that support the uterus to cleanse of old contents and stagnant blood. The Fertility Cleanse is always a great place to begin on any fertility journey. Because Ovarian Cysts are the product of failed or disordered ovulation and this shows us there is hormonal imbalance, the Fertility Cleanse gently cleanses the liver therefore promoting hormonal imbalance. One way an ovarian cyst is formed when the follicle does not release its egg and the follicle continues to grow forming a cyst. We have a great page on Ovarian Cysts and understanding which natural therapies are best for reducing/dissolving them.

If you are concerned about your pain, you may want to have your doctor check to see if the cyst has grown in size.

hi
i bought the fertility cleanse and started taking it on the 29th of Dec and on the 2 of jan i started spotting and i am still spotting i dont have a regular period i wanted to know do i still do the fertility cleanse or do i stop

14 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula January 11, 2010

Hi Diana,

Because you don’t have a regular period and you are spotting it may be ok to continue with the cleanse. If your spotting turns into a full period please stop the herbs while you are still menstruating and then begin them again when your period ends. Count out the days of the cleanse as if you have a normal cycle.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

15 Tiffany January 18, 2010

I have completed a month of the fertility cleanse and around the time my period was due i spotted lightly for 3 days. Is this the effects of the cleanse or should i see my doc to see if it is pregnancy related. no cramps whatsoever as i usually have, could that be due to womens bf??? i also have experienced sore breasts longer than usual. Please help

16 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula January 19, 2010

Hi Tiffany,

Is there a chance you are pregnant? If you think that there is a chance please take a pregnancy test. Every woman’s body is different and they experience the hormonal changes from the cleanse differently, the spotting may be from these changes. The reduced cramping may be from the Women’s Best Friend. Don’t panic, everything will sort itself out.

Warmly,

Dalene

Thx for the timely response. Turns out I’m not pregnant :( . Though I worry if my stubes are blocked. I requested and HSG from my doctor and she wouldnt write a referel. She wants me to wait it out. If my tubes were blocked, would “Zymessence” be a supplement to take to undo any damage that could be done?

18 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula January 20, 2010

Hi Tiffany,

Zymessence may be a great product to learn about. We had a woman recently on the forum who unblocked her fallopian tube with the use of this product along with other therapies such as fertility massage and the Fertility Cleanse. It would be best to know if your tubes are blocked or not. Do you have reason to believe they are?

This is a place for comments on our articles… this format does not enable me to see your past messages so it is hard to answer you properly. If you have more questions please contact me at info@natural-fertility-info.com

Thanks.

19 Ashley January 20, 2010

I just had a miscarriage two week ago. Is this safe to take Fertility Cleanse? Thanks.

20 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula January 21, 2010

Hi Ashley,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Choosing to do a Fertility Cleanse is up to you. It may be best to wait a couple of weeks to let your body heal and rest!

Dalene

21 Ashley January 22, 2010

Thanks! much Dalene.

BTW, I am starting to make Fertility Smoothies . Is this safe to drink Fertility Smoothies with Chinese herbs in the same day? My Western Dr. prescribe me an herb to take to build up my energy after a miscarriage? I want to make sure that it is safe to drink Fertility Smoothies with herbal since in smoothies also have Maca, Royal jelly and spirulina. Please advice.

Thanks,
–Ashley

22 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula January 25, 2010

Hi Ashley,

Since I do not know what Chinese herbs you are taking I cannot say for sure, but Maca, spirulina and Royal Jelly are superfoods and are safe to take with most anything (unless you are allergic).

All the best,

Dalene

23 Ashley January 26, 2010

Thanks! Dalene for the feedback.

24 Arianna March 26, 2010

I was reading about the fertility cleanse kit and the suggested use is more than the kit supplies? Do you suggest buying more than one kit? For instance: Why does it suggest using the conceptions tea for 4-6 months when the kit only comes with a 3 week supply? Also the liver renew caps it suggests taking for 1-2 months but only comes with a 10 day supply? All of the items in the kit are less than the amount needed.

Would one kit be sufficient for me: healthy, regular periods, no problems, mild acne, just wanting to get cleansed and be ready to try and get pregnant for the first time ever?

Thanks!

25 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula March 31, 2010

Hi Arianna,

Some of the products in the kit may be purchased separately from the kit and the directions on the label for those products are specific to using them outside of the Fertility Cleanse. Please follow the directions that came with the Fertility Cleanse Kit, those directions are specific to using the products just for the cleansing. The Fertility Cleanse Kit comes with just the right amount of products for one month or one menstrual cycle of cleansing. One kit is all you need.

Best Wishes,

Dalene

26 Chelsie May 13, 2010

Hi Darlene,
I am preparing for pregnancy (after two miscarriages) and ordered the Fertility Cleanse Kit for next cycle. I am currently taking Vitex, Maca, and DIM. I am curious if I should stop taking them during the cleanse or if it is okay to continue taking them while I cleanse. Any information you have would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Chelsie

27 Dalene Barton, CH, Doula May 14, 2010

Hi Chelsie,

Please stop taking the Vitex and DIM during the cleanse. You may begin them again when the cleanse is over.

Best Wishes,

Dalene
