Hi, Your website is wonderful…so informative. I don’t see anything directly addressing my issue – I stopped taking the birth control pill almost 5 months ago (after taking it for 13 years) and have not had a period since. My blood work originally showed low estrogen and low progesterone – my estrogen has increased and is now “normal” but my progesterone is low. My naturopath thinks that my ovaries have yet to “wake up” after being on the pill for so long. I am seeing an acupuncturist and have decreased my exercise level (I am a runner and I have heard that excessive exercise can be a problem.) Despite my efforts so far, I still have not had a period. I have been charting my temperatures – they hover around 98 degrees but have yet to see a prolonged shift indicative of ovulation. Any advice? Thank you in advance.

I am not sure how long you have been working with your acupuncturist, but you should expect some results in three to six months. Stick with it. There are many things you can do naturally to help your body bring back a regular menstrual cycle! We have a great guide to help you learn what can do to help your body recover after coming off of the birth control pill, to read it click here… If your progesterone is still low you may want to check out the natural progesterone guide, to help you learn natural ways to boost progesterone production.
I hope that helps you get started.
